QUARTER 2

Ink & Watercolor

This club will meet during the second quarter of the school year on Tuesdays from

Oct. 13th – Dec. 8.

Color Theory and Line Quality are the main focus of this class. Students will gain the skills needed to create mood and lighting effects, as well as learning secrets to mixing and matching color, through the study of various forms.  Some exercises will include bookmarks and holiday cards.

A sketchbook is recommended.

QUARTER 3

Digital Painting

This club will meet at the Orlando Gifted Academy on Tuesdays during the third quarter of the school year, from

January 12th – March 2nd

Students will explore Color Theory, Painting Techniques, Perspective, and Learning the tools of Procreate. They will gain the skills to create mood, textures, and lighting effects, as well as learn secrets of Procreate in addition to theory and uses of color.

This is a technology class. Each student must have a painting app installed on their iPad or laptop with a working iPencil or stylus. The preferred app for this class is Procreate for iPads. For laptops, I recommend Photoshop. if you choose a different painting program, make sure it has a variety of brushes and the ability to create layers. Not all of them do.

QUARTER 4

STOP-MOTION ANIMATION

This club will meet at the Orlando Gifted Academy on Tuesdays during the 4th Quarter of the school year, from

March 23 – May 11

Using the app “Stop Motion”, students will be introduced to the principles of animation through the use of puppets and models, the art of storyboarding, layout, and staging concepts.

This is a technology class. Each student must have the Stop Motion Pro APP installed on their device, preferably an ipad or their phone. Laptops are ok if camera can be accessed, please check.
