Digital Painting with Color Theory
This class aligns with the FLDOE (Florida Department of Education) CPALMS Standard Course – Digital Art Imaging I (#0108370)
Explore the art of digital painting while mastering the principles of color theory. This class teaches students how to create visually compelling artwork using digital tools, focusing on color harmony, contrast, mood, and atmosphere.
Students will learn techniques for blending, layering, and rendering digitally, with an emphasis on translating traditional color theory into the digital medium. Projects include character design, environment painting, and conceptual illustration, allowing students to develop both technical skill and creative expression.
By the end of the class, students will be able to use color intentionally to enhance storytelling, and visual impact, preparing them for animation, illustration, and various digital art projects.
* Students must have access to a drawing tablet for their computer with Photoshop or an iPad with Procreate, along with a digital iPencil, to participate in class projects.
